- Catholic priest killed by Hindu extremists in Mayurbhanj, Odisha.

3. Graham Staines (1941–1999) and His Sons – Odisha
- Australian missionary working with leprosy patients.

5. Sr. Rani Maria (1954–1995) – Madhya Pradesh
- Catholic nun working with poor tribal communities.
- Stabbed 54 times in public by a hired assassin.
